Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing well. In this post I would like to share some of the process about my sculptures, it has taken me some some time and a lot of research to find the way that most fits me so I thought it would be nice to share it with you all!. I'm going to show you with a recently sculpt I've made of a Parasaurolophus (One of my all time favorite dinosaur!)
So the first I do is define the scale that I will be working with (wich is usually 1/50 or 1/30 depending on the real size of the dinosaur) and then I use those proportions to make the skeleton with wire, wich will help me to define the pose. I like to do some quick sketches with pencils that helps me to define the main aspects of the figure. Once that's completed I usually start to work in the head first because it's very helpfull for me to define the main "spirit" of the final figure, so I go all the way defining the main features of it (eyes, mouth and breathing holes) and then it's all about details!

Once the head is completed I start to work around the body where I usually like to take my time to try different ways to make skin textures of how I Imagine the Dinosaur would look.
After the main body is completed I get around the tail, arms, feet and final details until the figure satisfies me!

Once the figure is finished It's time to start the painting process, I leave you here a sneek peek of how this figure turned out!

I hope you like it and please remember that if you have any questions of my figures or if you are starting to learn about polymer clay don't hesitate to ask me, I'll be happy to help you!
Regards,
Matias
